You worked hard to make your wine. How carefully have you tested what closes the bottle?
Micro-agglomerated closures can offer attractive pricing and consistent performance. But sharing a category doesn’t mean sharing the same construction. Cork granules, binders, additives, and processing can differ.
Published research has identified differences in wine’s volatile composition under different closures. One study reported trans-4-tert-butylcyclohexanol in wine sealed with a particular micro-agglomerated closure. That finding warrants investigation, but it does not establish that the plastic fillers used to add volume in lieu of using more cork granules caused the compound or a sensory defect.
The question is simple: Which closure best preserves the wine you intended to bottle, and at what cost?
At ENOTOOLS, we offer Amorim’s Neutrocork and Xpür: two closures made only from closure-grade, natural cork granules and a food-grade binder.
Neutrocork: An established micro-agglomerated closure offering consistency and competitive pricing.
Xpür: Uses supercritical CO₂ technology to remove TCA and other compounds that can cause sensory deviations while preserving cork’s natural characteristics. Amorim describes this process as maintaining cork’s elasticity without needing added artificial components to restore it.
We believe our closures deserve a place in your next bottling. Let’s put that belief to the test on your wine. What does your closure contribute to your wine? What might it take away? A controlled comparison can help you find out.
Let’s Arrange a Head-To-Head Trial
Let’s arrange a head-to-head trial against the closure you currently use. Together, we can plan a comparison using:
- The same wine and comparable bottling conditions.
- Each closure applied according to its recommended specifications.
- Matching storage conditions and agreed tasting dates.
- Multiple bottles from each group, tasted blind.
- An evaluation of fruit expression, aroma, palate, finish, bottle variation, and closure cost.
Want to Look Closer?
Your wine. Your current closure. Our challenger. A blind comparison.
We’re confident enough in what we sell to invite the comparison. If our closures earn your preference, you’ll have evidence from your own wine to support your decision.
Contact ENOTOOLS and say, “Let’s trial my closures.”
Tell us what you’re bottling, which closure you currently use, and your next bottling date. We’ll discuss the right Neutrocork or Xpür option and work out a practical trial with you.
